Amanda is an artist who grew up in a small northern Minnesota lake town until the age of 12, when her family moved to North Dakota. After graduating from the University of North Dakota with her BA in Visual Arts, she spent the last 9 years in the Pacific Northwest with her husband. Her two young children were born in Washington state, and that part of the country will always hold a piece of her heart. Amanda and her husband decided two years ago to make the move back to Minnesota to be closer to family and to raise their children in this lovely state. Since then, Amanda has been falling in love all over again with the beauty of Minnesota, winters and all. Her recent art serves as a way to process the transition back to Minnesota and express the beauty she sees around her.
Amanda has her MA in Art Therapy Counseling, but has taken a hiatus from practicing therapy until her children are older. She is currently teaching art classes at a local homeschool co-op as well as online Art Appreciation courses at a local college.
